Critically acclaimed American director and screenwriter Phillip Christon has an award-winning career spanning over two decades in mainstream Hollywood and Independent feature film production for virtually every major studio including Paramount Pictures, Universal, Warner Bros., New Line and Fine Line Cinema, and Columbia TriStar, in addition to Superbowl and Oscar contender commercials for DDB Needham, Leo Burnett and TBWA/Chiat/Day, as well as groundbreaking music videos for Sony, Arista, Maverick and Virgin.
Upon graduating summa cum laude from UCLA’s cinema school, Phillip interned at Warner Bros. Studios under the mentorship of Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs, Rachel Getting Married) working alongside top industry producers Gary Goetzman (Mama Mia!, Where the Wild Things Are) and Charles Mulvehill (The Godfather, The Last Samurai). Subsequently, Phillip began climbing every rung of the Hollywood production ladder, quickly becoming one of the youngest First Assistant Directors to be earmarked by the industry’s top completion bond companies, working side by side with a host of the industry’s most prestigious filmmakers, ranging from Gus Van Sant, Bill Condon, Gore Verbinski and Tony Kaye to top photographers Herb Ritts, Matthew Rolston and Annie Leibovitz, as well as a “Who’s Who” of A-List celebrities spanning the actor/pop-star/athlete gamut, from Keanu Reeves and Madonna to Michael Jordan.
As both writer and director, Phillip’s personal projects have premiered, toured and been awarded at major film festival circuits throughout the world. His controversial dramatic film debut, The Chosen One packed multiple SRO audience screenings at Raleigh Studios’ Chaplin Theater in Hollywood, received the Bronze Award at the WorldFest Houston International Film Festival, and was a finalist at the USA Film Festival, Dallas. His spine-tingling German expressionist-influenced The Bundle premiered at The Hamptons International Film Festival with the warning, “The terror reaches a fever pitch.” The Seattle International Film Festival called it, “A powerful rendering of a woman in the throes of intense apprehension and anticipation”, where it was immediately picked up for distribution by Bravo and The Independent Film Channel. His recent agit-prop spoken word opus I’m Not Britney has spawned a global following in over fifty countries.
Phillip is the co-founder of WE World Entertainment.
